About DJ CAVA
First, I will start with the name Cava, which, in Spanish means "digging." It seems that my DJ name is the present tense of the verb "to dig." But, the name goes far beyond this simple translation.
While living in Northern California, I met a woman by the name of JoAnn. She acted as a guide of sorts while I was grieving the loss of my younger sister. JoAnn had moved to the area to recover from lung cancer. She chose to decline surgery and chemotherapy. She fully recovered. Though I am not one who belives in angels and crystals, I cannot deny the cancer that no longer lives inside of her.
JoAnn and I would visit several times before I moved back to the East Cost. In the course of one visit she suggested that she spoke with my guardian angel... and its name is Cava.
There is a sacred cave in the area I had lived that "belongs" to the Miwok Indians. It is said that it is one of seven significant spritual sites on this planet. Unfortunately, I never had a chance to visit this cave, as we needed special permission to enter this sacred land, and I left before that permission was granted. What I also find amazing is that I found myself living in a land of the Indians, as I was raised the first few years of my life on an Indian Reservation in another part of California. And, get this, I had a dog named Miwok.
There are many significant elements to this name, be they coincidence or connectedness. Either way, it is said I have a guardian angel named Cava, and I have adopted this name as my DJ persona.
